InterSeptors Showband :-
Originally formed by two brothers Henry and David Arthur Braganza RIP (deceased Oct 2024) in 2000 as a 7 piece latin function band, hence the name contains SEPT(from septum Latin for 7).
Prior to that they were both pro musicians doing performing session work – Henry in France and Germany and Dave as guitarist with the Thames TV Big Band in Teddington, London.
Henry was still an active player on guitar with other outfits as the band evolved to an 11 (sometimes larger) piece function band with the addition of a 5 piece Horn section with Danny Glavin-Baritone Sax, Josh Hall-Tenor & Alto sax, Tom Pascoe-Trombone and Alan White and Tone Watson on trumpets/flugel horns and latterly Sax players Becky Martin, Helen Wimble and Rebecca Douglas. The line up now had some brilliant front singers in Samm Meakings. Mike Lloyd and Gia Peppin plus top bassist Simon Nobbs on fretless bass not to mention the illustrious and our “Animal from the Muppets” drummer Koogan Shadrack.
They developed into a very busy outfit with over 100 gigs booked a year and new dates flooding in all the time due to their ever increasing popularity.
They performed at Corporate and Masonic functions, Mayors Ball events, University Prom Nights, Private parties, Holiday parks and countless weddings but also liked to do the pub and club circuits locally, and up the line as far as the Medway towns to the Isle of Wight.
Labelling themselves as a Party Showband, their main mission was always to get the party started and they certainly became the Tour de Force living up to that name.
They have performed at some prestigious venues such as Winter Gardens, Dreamland, Somerset House in London, at the Epsom Racecourse on Derby day and Jools Hollands Cooling Castle.
The band did travel around and never minded playing at other faraway gigs such as Norfolk, the Isle of White and even to the Bordeaux in France for a very swish wedding.
Via their agent they once collaborated with ex-Drifter singer Jahson to back him in his show in Leicestershire.
The InterSeptors reign terminated in January 2019 with a finale gig at one of their favourite venues, The Racing Greyhound, this was due to Henry’s retirement.
During the bands lifespan the band employed many other amazing musicians such as :- Lisa Barrett-Smith and Gemma Lang on saxes, Andy Burring, Terry Crosbie Jnr. and Chris Lewis on drums, Dan Bigwood and Bill Riseborough on bass, Mike Lloyd on guitar and drums as well as singers such as Hollie Hands, Kelly Burrows, Ashleigh Tapster, Ashleigh Kerrison, Kristina Maria, Gemma Warren, Ben Paul, Jay Anoot and Karl Dawson to name but a few plus countless deps the band were honoured to perform with.
The band later evolved into the Decades Showband with some of the Ints members which went on to bigger things but were happy to continue the legacy of the ‘World Famous’ InterSeptors Showband.
The band planned a reunion gig in remembrance of Dave Braganza and to support Alzheimer’s with many ex-Ints on Friday the 8th August 2025 at one of their many favourite venues, namely Churchills Tavern, Ramsgate. This turned out to be a massive success with 16 ex-members on stage playing iconic Ints tunes, unrehearsed and on the fly to a very large and appreciative audience plus raising £100’s for the cause.
REFORM :- There was a spark and so it transpired from that gig there came suggestions and pleas from audience members for the Ints to perform again, so the ex-band members interest was gauged and the desire to play again emerged.
So a year later InterSeptors II started rehearsing for their first gig in December 2025 at one of their popular venues, Birchington Utd Service Club with 7 original members plus two new singers in Laura May and Lee Pepper plus keys player Joe Cheshire.
Who knows where this will take them……however if you want to book the band, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
